Crisis Refuges

Crisis Refuges

Our crisis accommodation is short term accommodation for young people 14-19 years. Project Youth has two refuges supporting up to 10 young people across the Sutherland Shire and St George LGAs. Each young person has their own room and shares amenities with other young people in the house.

Our refuges are staffed 24/7 and young people can stay for up to 3 months. Throughout this time, staff will support residents to access alternative accommodation options based on their individual needs.

Young people do not need to be on an income to access our crisis accommodation. However, once in receipt of an income that is equal to or above the independent unreasonable to live at home rate of Youth Allowance, board is charged at $100 per week (which includes activities, food, and internet).

To enquire about vacancies, or to get details of the program and its suitability, please reach out directly to the refuges on:

“Life at the refuge allowed me to feel safe. It is the place where I became to know my self-worth and capabilities. It is the foundation that gave me the chance to break the cycle of abuse I witnessed growing up.”
