Community Engagement

Our Community Engagement Program brings the voice of lived experience directly into classrooms, schoolyards, and communities across the Sutherland Shire and Georges River. Led by our peer educators who are young people with firsthand experience of homelessness, this program breaks down stigma, builds empathy, and empowers students with the knowledge to better understand youth homelessness and how they can be part of the solution to end it.
From playground drop-in sessions to wellbeing days and school assemblies, our team delivers real, relatable education that resonates. We also lead key local events, including Youth Homelessness Matters Day, amplifying awareness and creating space for courageous conversations.
Last year alone, the program reached over 2,000 young people, each one now better equipped to recognise signs of struggle in their peers, seek help, and stand up for change. This isn’t just education, it’s prevention, connection, and hope in action.
