Tastes Like Home
Tastes Like Home is more than just a series of cooking videos, it’s a collection of recipes for belonging. Created by and for young people facing homelessness, this project offers something many take for granted: the chance to learn how to cook in a way that feels safe, familiar, and empowering.

Recipes Chosen by
Young People
Too often, cooking tutorials are led by celebrity chefs or adult influencers, using ingredients and techniques that feel out of reach. For young people who’ve never had someone to teach them, food can feel like yet another closed door. Tastes Like Home changes that.
Every recipe in the series was chosen by young people in our supported housing programs, the meals they craved, the food that brought comfort, the dishes they always wanted to learn, and meals they could actually afford to make. Hosted by a young person with lived experience, each video is created with a passion for connection, comfort, and the joy of learning something new together.
Reconnecting, One Meal
at a Time
Food is more than fuel. It’s culture, memory, identity. It’s how we care for ourselves and others. Through Tastes Like Home, young people are confidently stepping into the kitchen, not just to nourish their bodies, but to reconnect with the feeling of home, one meal at a time.
