We’re thrilled to announce that our very own social enterprise coffee cart – Officially opened Monday 22nd September 2025. It is located in the vibrant rear courtyard of Orana, 3a Stapleton Avenue, Sutherland (also accessible via Belmont Street)!
Swing by for your daily brew (and a tasty snack ) while supporting young people building skills and brighter futures.
Come grab your daily brew and support a great cause – because 100% of profits go straight back to Project Youth, helping us continue the life-changing work we do for young people in our community.

Café Social is now closed.
25th July 2025 marked the final day of trading for Café Social.
After 12 incredible years serving the beautiful Menai community, we’re reflecting with immense pride and deep gratitude on what this social enterprise has meant, not just to us, but to the 348 young people whose lives it helped shape.
Café Y, and later Café Social, was never just a café. It was a space of hope, healing, connection, and purpose. A place where young people facing homelessness and disadvantage found opportunity, support, and belonging.
Together, over the past 12 years, we’ve:
- Provided 50,000 hours of paid youth employment
- Directly employed 45 young people
- Supported 298 young people through job readiness and industry training
- Completed 12 formal traineeships
- Welcomed 60 incredible volunteers
- Brewed over 100,000 coffees
- Served 110,000 customers
More than numbers, this is a story of lives changed, confidence built, futures planned, and community created.
While we say a fond and emotional farewell to the café that has felt like home to so many, this is not the end of supported employment at Project Youth. We are already imagining bold, new ways to keep transforming lives.

Serving up fresh coffee and delicious sweet treats, our coffee cart is open to everyone—whether you’re grabbing a quick takeaway or stopping by for a chat.
We're open Monday to Friday, 9am–2pm, and you’ll always be greeted by a friendly face—our cart is proudly staffed by a young person gaining real-world experience through Project Youth’s social enterprise initiative.
Even better? Every dollar you spend goes straight back into Project Youth, helping us continue to support and empower young people in our community.
