YHMD is a day to raise awareness about the issue of youth homelessness and to come together as a community to end it! Project Youth held an event in Cronulla mall where we engaged with community members, politicians, funders, government and councils.

We are very grateful for everyone who came and chatted with us about solutions to this ever-increasing crisis that is hidden right here in our local community.

In one year at Project Youth we will turn away 958 young people who have reached out to us for housing support. We need this to change - we need more funding, more specialist youth housing services, and a national youth homelessness plan.

Together we can make youth homelessness a thing of the past and create a better future for all young people!

Youth Homelessness Matters because NO young person should be facing homelessness and ALL young people deserve the right to a future where they are housed and feel safe – it is a basic human right.
