Project Youth is a not for profit community organisation that operates in Southern Sydney. Our aim is to create opportunities for young people to determine their own future.


We’re looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to join our team of casual youth workers. If you have an understanding of social issues facing young people, excellent communication skills, and an ability to develop a professional rapport with young people this could be the role for you! Flexible and varied hours mean shifts can fit in around uni or TAFE timetables.

The duties are many and varied (and fun) and include -

  • Drop in and activities at any of our sites, including Miranda and Menai
  • Street based outreach on Thursday and Friday nights
  • Other occasional events, festivals, school holiday programs and excursions
  • Assisting with the support of young people living in Project Youth’s crisis and semi-supported accommodation. (Previous experience working in youth housing will be highly regarded.)

Y Housing youth support residential worker 

(Crisis Refuge Full Time)

Project Youth is a not for profit community organisation, and we've been operating in south eastern Sydney region for over 25 years. Our aim is to create opportunities for young people to determine their own future.

We’re looking for an outgoing and energetic person to work on a rotating roster within The Bridge Crisis Refuge team.
You will be required to case manage young people, supervise daily activities and contribute to the overall running of the house. To assist young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through broad and flexible service models. Experience working in a youth homelessness setting will be highly regarded.

35 hours per week, on a rotating roster including overnight and weekend shifts.

Student Placements

We get a lot of interest from students wanting to do placements at Project Youth. We're currently working with TAFE NSW, Sutherland College Loftus Campus, to try and accomodate their Youth Work students in the first intance. If you are a TAFE student speak to your placement coordinator.
