Part Time Temporary Bookkeeper. Contract position 

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Part time Bookkeeper to work at Project Youth for a period of 6- 7 months. 

Project Youth's is a not for profit community based organisation that has been operating across the South Eastern Sydney region for over 27 years. The purpose of the organisation is to create opportunities for young people to thrive.

We work with young people aged 12-24 who may have complex needs, are at risk, come from a disadvantaged backgrounds and would not be able to fulfil their potential without additional support.

Our work is in three main areas comprising of Housing; Early Intervention; and Social Enterprise. This involves programs that accommodate young people in crisis and supports transition into independent living or returning to their family home. As well as programs, that intervene early to reduce and stop escalation of issues.

All our programs work together to achieve our four main outcomes which ensures all young people are connecting; achieving; safe; and healthy. 

This role involves the provision of bookkeeping services including payroll, accounts receivable and payable, superannuation, BAS preparation, production of monthly financial reports for the Board of Management and Management team.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person who is passionate about working in a Non Government Organisation. 

The position is 21 Hours per week, to be worked flexibly between 8.00am and 8.00pm Monday to Friday, with one of these days preferrably being Wednesday for payroll.

Student Placements

We get a lot of interest from students wanting to do placements at Project Youth. We're currently working with TAFE NSW, Sutherland College Loftus Campus, to try and accomodate their Youth Work students in the first intance. If you are a TAFE student speak to your placement coordinator.

Muscle Up Mentors!

Project Youth is currently looking for male mentors for our Muscle Up/Fit for Life boys fitness program.

The program will run across both Sutherland and St George areas...join one program or join them both!! Programs runs from 7am-8.15am on Weds (Sutherland) and Tues (St George).

Project Youth works in partnership with local police and PCYC to provide assistance and support to young people at risk. The aim of the program is to increase positive relationships between young people and available support services, and increase positive behaviours and school attendance by the young participants.

Muscle Up/Fit for Life has a strong focus on fitness
and encouraging the boys to positively engage in their community.

Our mentors are an integral part of this program. Volunteers who participate in this program are expected to participate in the fitness alongside the young people to encourage them to participate to the best of their potential and also ensure each young person is well supported throughout the program whilst also making the fitness enjoyable!!
