Keep the coffee flowing!

Cafe Y is a social enterprise set up and run by Project Youth to connect disadvantaged young people with supported education, work experience and employment.

Two and a half years after start up Cafe Y is receiving recognition in the wider community, after picking up a highly commended award at the Menai District Business Awards this year. EO, Kellie Checkley said it was nice to receive the recognition. Kellie said, "It is an amazing achievement that a social enterprise can compete against other local businesses and get placed in their category, it really is a testament to the hard work of the young people."

Cafe Y would love to employ a dedicated youth worker to support the young people who are trained through our partnership with TAFE, and to ensure they make a successful transition to work.

You can help us to fund this by donating to our GoFundMe campaign.

You can also read an article about the Cafe on The Leader website.

Just remember, we don't employ young people to make coffee, we make coffee to employ young people.
